Foundation Review Series: Clinique Anti-Blemish Solutions Liquid Makeup
Friday, August 24, 2012Hi ladies! A thought occurred to me the other day - I am such a huge fan of foundations (they are probably my favourite kind of makeup) and have a bucketload of them, but haven't reviewed very many of them for the blog and you guys.
So I decided to 'launch' my Foundation Review Series - where I review some of my favourite foundations, and some foundations new to me that I found very interesting and would definitely suit a lot of skin types.
The first foundation I'm going to review is the Clinique Anti-Blemish Solutions Liquid Makeup, one of my favourite everyday foundations.
Clinique: Feels so cool and fresh, looks so natural. Non-irritating, oil-free makeup helps blend away bumps, neutralise redness. Targeted ingredients help treat existing breakouts and keep them from coming back.Packaging
This foundation comes in a sturdy plastic packaging with a funnelled tube dispenser - so everything is neat and hygienic.
Product
Its texture is pretty standard for a liquid foundation - it doesn't have quite as thick a texture as, say, the Chanel Pro Lumiere, but not as thin as the latest foundations like the Chanel Vitalumiere Aqua.
The colour I have is 02 Fresh Ivory, which is a great match for my NC20-ish skin.
Performance
This foundation has a matte finish that manages to keep the 'life' in the skin. It doesn't cake - which is something a lot of other matte-finish foundations do - and does a very good job at covering imperfections.
I would probably classify the coverage as medium to full.
My pores are well hidden with this foundation, and it manages to smooth out my skin very well and give it a healthy, no-foundation look.
I apply this foundation either with my hands or a buffing brush. The buffing brush is my favourite method of application, because it gives the skin a more polished, perfect finish. If you're looking to get a more luminous, sheer finish, then apply it with your hands.

I usually find that most of my makeup (excluding my blush!) lasts pretty long on my skin, so I can't vouch for its staying power except to say that it performs just as well as my other favourite foundations. It also keeps the oiliness at bay.
Overall, I love this foundation. It has a lasting matte, polished effect, and it hides imperfections with its medium to full coverage finish.
This foundation retails for AUD 50 at Clinique counters.
