Product Review: St Ives Naturally Clear Green Tea Scrub

Wednesday, January 23, 2013

My entire family uses the skincare products that are provided to me for consideration (my parents visit us frequently and never bring any skincare with them because our apartment is more than adequately stocked), and they all have their own unique preferences, skincare needs, and likes.

The St Ives Naturally Clear Green Tea Scrub, however, managed to claim the attention of every single family member. For days all I heard were questions about where to buy this, whether it was already released, how much it cost, and whether there were plans to release it in Malaysia.

Packaging
This comes in the typical St Ives scrub packaging - a tube with a connected cap.

Product
This is meant for oily, acne-prone skin, and is meant to help to clear out blackheads in the skin. It contains a tiny bit of salicylic acid and (of course) green tea, both of which help to reduce acne.
This is not your typical scrub, and that is probably the reason why everyone in my family loves it so much. It is made up of the tiniest grains, suspended within a foaming gel. According to my sister, this is one of the most grain-saturated scrubs she has ever tried, which is why she really likes it.

This scrub is lightly scented, not nearly enough to be irritating, but in case you have a particularly sensitive nose, you were warned!

Performance
The grains in this scrub are quite soft, so they are gentle enough to use on sensitive skin. My sister's skin is generally quite red and sensitive, but she absolutely loves this scrub and says that it makes her skin soft and smooth.
My sister also says that this scrub has really helped reduce the amount of breakouts on her skin, and she is plain hooked on it!

If you're looking for something to clear your skin and reduce blackheads and breakouts, I highly recommend this! Available at selected pharmacies and department stores nationwide.
