Makeup Tutorial: Soft Smoky Eye for Hooded Eyelids

Monday, November 25, 2013

I know this is late, but I finally have a tutorial to share with everyone, and I hope you enjoy this one! I know a lot of you have asked for a tutorial for people with extreme hooded eyelids, and this one I think works because you are not faking a crease, but creating one on the outer corners of your eyes instead. This helps it look more natural whilst still lifting and defining your eyelids, which is what you want to do with hooded lids.

I hope you enjoy the video! x

Products mentioned:

MAC Paint Pot in Painterly - the best eyeshadow base in the history of this world.

Sleek Contour Kit in Medium - one of the best affordable contour powders on the market at the moment. It is warm but not too warm, so it suits a lot of skin tones and undertones.

Sleek i-Divine Palette in Oh So Special - if you're looking for a palette with neutral toned brown eyeshadows, this is pretty good. I am starting to play around a lot with matte eyeshadow tones because I think layering them can bring such amazing dimension to the eyes, and this palette has just the right blend of matte and shimmer eyeshadows.

Sleek i-Divine Palette in Circus - a great affordable palette if you want to add some colour to your 'eyeshadow wardrobe'.

Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer in Fair - this is a great concealer because it is crazy pigmented! One of the best drugstore ones for the face, but not the undereye area because it is quite dry and can gather in your fine lines.

Clinique Brush-on Cream Liner in True Black - my favourite gel eyeliner because it doesn't dry up and hardly moves after it sets.

Bobbi Brown Creamy Concealer in Ivory - an old favourite of mine. I love the way it brightens my undereye area, and this is great to use under the eyes because it is creamy and thick. Just remember to set the area with powder!

La Roche Posay Melt-in BB Cream - this is an SPF50 product, by the way! It is a new addition to my makeup collection and already one of my favourite BB creams. It offers great coverage and high sun protection, and makes your skin look glowy and flawless without you having to put in too much effort.

Alima Pure Luminous Shimmer Blush in Guava - I absolutely love this colour! It is a peachy pink that is so, so flattering on both warm and cool skin tones. It is so pretty on the skin, and the shimmer particles give your skin that healthy glow that people are always looking for. Available at Luxola.com.

YSL Rouge Volupte in Nude Beige - a very pinky nude colour that it just the right amount of warm to suit warm skin tones.

Beaute Cosmetics Luminous Gloss in Girlie Show - a lipgloss that always lights up any lipstick you apply it over.
