I had heard so many things about The Roof, I decided it was high time I try it for myself. So off J and I went, my Samsung in hand (I'll tell you more about that later), and we soon found ourselves seated next to what I'm sure is the best view in the BU area.

Before I get into the pictures and food, for those of you who don't know, The Roof is a premium entertainment hub, housing a restaurant, bar, club and cigar lounge all in one rooftop venue. It boasts amazing views of the city, and some pretty top notch food and drink, too.

J and I, along with the lovely (and coincidentally, also newly engaged) Alicia and partner, treated ourselves to a yummy dinner at Signature - the restaurant at The Roof.

My starter was what I can only describe as the best mushroom soup I have ever tasted - I am still drooling as I type this, and I will be back for more. The little toastie stick accompanying my soup was not my favourite - it lacked flavour and texture - but nothing could dull my euphoric tasting experience. That mushroom soup was heaven!

J had the escargot, and according to him, they were lovely. Alicia had the same, and she was lapping up the sauce - the dish was that good.

Next came the mains, and I had a ball gorging on mine. I ordered the beef tenderloin, and it came cooked just as I asked, with a really yummy, hearty gravy, on top of a pumpkin mash that surprisingly (I don't like pumpkin), I actually enjoyed. The flavours meshed really well together, and I had the added surprise of an unexpected garnish on the side - chocolate coated garlic cloves! I didn't expect to like it, but I actually really did. Good job, Signature!
