Product Review: Hada Labo Super Hyaluronic Acid Moisturizing Lotion
Saturday, March 05, 2011The name is a little bit of a mouthful, but this toner is a wonderful product!
I'm finally getting around to writing a review of this product. I've been using it for just about a month now, and I love the effect it has on my skin!
What it claims to do
This moisturizing toner claims to hydrate your skin better than any other toner. It has developed a serious following its home country - with 4 bottles sold each minute in Japan.
Appearance
The toner comes in a 170ml-sized bottle, and has the typical plastic covering at the mouth with a little hole to dispense the product.
The product itself is colourless, and slightly thicker than water. What's great about this product is that you don't need a cotton square to apply it.
All you have to do is dispense about 4-5 drops onto your palms, rub them together to spread the product out a little, then pat it onto your face until it absorbs. You'll know once it has been absorbed, because then your face starts becoming really sticky, and your palms kind of 'tear off' your skin like cellophane.
It sounds scary, but it's pretty cute when you watch the ads - just YouTube Hada Labo and click on the ads. And it feels really satisfying, too.
Fragrance
There's virtually no smell to this product, which I actually really like. Products that have strong perfume smells always scare me.
Without fragrancing, I feel like I'm getting a more 'natural' product, which is actually what a lot of Japanese skincare companies aim to provide.
Performance
One minor gripe I have about this product is that the lotion takes forever to absorb! You have to spend a good minute and a half patting it onto your face, which really isn't helpful if you're trying to get somewhere fast.
Maybe that's how this product performs so effectively? I don't know.
Overall, my skin has been behaving so well since I started using this product!
When I first got back to Malaysia, I had trouble adjusting to the weather, so my skin was always oily and greasy (the sunblock didn't help, either!). I started Hada Labo a few days after arriving in Malaysia, and it only took about a week to produce results.
My skin is less greasy in the afternoons, and my makeup application is a lot smoother. My foundation looks amazing nowadays!
Also, over the past few years, I've suffered from dry skin. It was quite frustrating, because I had to use all these moisturizing, heavy products, and my skin would always end up being very greasy in the afternoons. But I went for a facial recently, and found out that I no longer have dry skin. Score 1 for Hada Labo :)
Value for Money
This lotion retails for only RM 48.90. I love that I found a functioning product that is so cheap!
Hada Labo has also introduced a whitening version of this lotion, which is great because I've been looking for something that can address my dry skin as well as my freckles. I'm definitely trying it out once I finish this bottle!
I've included the Hada Labo moisturizing range trial set in my giveaway, ending April 15th. Enter to try out this amazing product, and to win more awesome prizes! :)
