FOTD: Playing with Paint Pots
Tuesday, April 19, 2011Happy Tuesday, everyone!
I'm just posting a simple FOTD I did the other day, using Benefit's Creaseless Cream Eyeshadow in Smut.
I usually don't use cream eyeshadows/paint pots to do my smoky eye looks, but I'm beginning to realise how silly that was, because the cream shadows have a lovely kind of slip to them, which makes them really easy to blend, and makes smoky eyes a dream to create.
It also creates a great base over which to layer other eyeshadows. It grips on to the eyeshadows beautifully, and darkens and intensifies their colours.
In this smoky eye look, I layered the dark purple from my Chanel palette onto the cream eyeshadow, then deepened the outer crease with Ameli eyeshadow in Black Scandal.
I highlighter the inner corner with the most gorgeous purple pigment from Heavenly Naturals called Daddy's Girl.
Here's a close-up picture of the look without photo-editing:
Other products used:
Revlon 12-Hour Colorstay Quad in Coffee Bean (for eyebrows)
Face of Australia Liquid Therapy Mineral Foundation in Beige
Revlon Matte Lipstick in Pink Pout
NYX Round Lipstick in Strawberry Milk
I will be posting a tutorial soon on working with paint pots and cream eyeshadows. Stay tuned! Wishing everyone an amazing week :)
