Nude Lip Series: Tom Ford Private Blend Lip Color in Vanilla Suede
Friday, June 24, 2011Okay, so you've heard everyone gush about Tom Ford's Private Blend Lip Colour, and you're going to hear it again. There's a reason why this lipstick has been trailblazing a white hot fire through the blogging community.
Tom Ford Private Blend Lip Colour is an extremely luxe lipstick - the packaging is sleek, heavy, and beautiful. Everything about this lipstick just screams luxury brand. The colour I'm showing you today is Vanilla Suede.
What Tom Ford says:
Tom Ford’s take on twelve classic lip colors, from bare nude to fire red to deep brown, re-imagined in a modern and authoritative way. Formulated with rare and exotic ingredients, the luxurious formula has an ultra-creamy texture for an incredibly smooth application. Specially treated color pigments are blended to deliver pure color with just the right balance of luminosity
It looks sheer and doesn't show up in the swatch well, but this is a beautiful creamy, shimmery, off-white colour lipstick shot through with golden micro-shimmer particles.
When I first swatched this lipstick on my hand, I was so afraid it would turn up dry on my lips, because it seemed so chalky and frosty. The minute I applied the lipstick, however, my reservations zipped right out the window.
This lipstick is pigmented, it is smooth, it is an absolute dream to apply! One simple swipe, no pressure needed like with some other lipsticks (you know what I'm talking about - where you have to press that mother down into your lip and go over it 3 times before the colour and creaminess show), and creamy, intense colour is deposited onto your lips.
This lipstick doesn't look creamy or glossy on the lip at all, and yet the formula feels so amazingly creamy - it defies logic! It stays on for hours and hours (I know, I took it clubbing with me to put it to the ultimate test, and it stayed on my lips!), and the best part? It stays creamy. It doesn't dry into a crust on my chapped lips (embarrassingly, I take horrible care of my lips for a beauty blogger), and keeps them smooth and pretty for hours on end.
I chose this FOTD instead of the standard one I've been using to showcase the lipstick because it plays off the blue in the eyeshadow so so beautifully! Suffice it to say, I'm in love. Tom Ford Private Blend Lip Color, I need more of you in my life.
This lipstick retails at a whopping 65AUD at David Jones counters. My opinion? They're well worth the money.
