Product Review and Swatches: Australis Show Stopper Gloss Sticks
Tuesday, August 09, 2011Boy, oh boy, have I got a treat for you guys today! I just received these Australis Show Stopper Gloss Sticks in the mail a couple of days ago, but I just have to blog about them now!
What Australis say:
Moisturising lip colours that provide an intense solid colour coverage with a high gloss finish. These sharpenable sticks provide a precise and easy application and contain semi-stain pigments for long lasting wear. This non-stick lip colour is enriched with Vitamin E, leaving lips feeling soft and smooth upon application.Australis has been knocking it out of the park lately, with their Lash TLC Conditioning Mascara (which I use every single day) and another product that I will blog about soon. Their media packaging is super cute, too - I received these gloss sticks packaged in a container full of fairy floss. Needless to say, there is no picture because I scarfed it all down within minutes of receiving it *burp*.
The product itself is pretty darn amazing, as you all mentioned in my previous black smoky eye look:
In this look, I layered Fairy Floss over a nude lipstick (Lime Crime's Coquette)
Here are the swatches:
Fireworks is a dark red with a burgundy undertone. It has flecks of golden shimmer in it, which add a little glossiness and a lot of oomph to the lip.
Hoola Hoop looks very neutral here in the swatch, but it applies as a corally bright red. It is the creamiest and glossiest of the three. It is my favourite texture by far.
Fairy Floss is the most beautiful pink imaginable. It is an absolutely brilliant, bubblegum, sheer pink. I LOVE this colour!
All three gloss sticks are quite pigmented and buildable. What I really like about these is that you don't have to go through the hassle of applying your red lip with a lip brush - these pencils are so easy to control and don't bleed outside the lip.
Also, the colours are sheer enough that you can layer them on top of another lipstick and they look fabulous!
As far as staining goes, I'm not sure, but I don't find myself having to reapply these lipsticks too often, which is always a plus. They last me a good 3-4 hours without retouching.
Here are a few pictures of me wearing the gloss sticks:
Fireworks.
Hoola Hoop.
Fairy Floss. Isn't it the most gorgeous pink you have ever seen?!
These retail for AUD 12.95. My recommendation? Stock up!
