This one is for you guys who like the random posts on my blog! I bought a new camera the other day, I won't bore you with the details but here are some shots I took whilst playing around with the settings.

I really need to find another name for this series! I am not updating fortnightly, bad blogger!

Here are some pictures on Instagram that I uploaded over the past couple of weeks :)

L: How beautiful is Jennifer Lawrence's hair at the Hunger Games premiere? Celebrity hairstylist Adir Abergel braided ornamental headbands into her hair and twisted the braids to form a bun, using Dove styling products. So pretty, and my wedding hair inspiration :)

R: I am in love with stacked bangles and bracelets. When it was a little warmer, I wore all kinds of bangles and bracelets on my wrists. Now that it's cooler and I need to squeeze my arms into a thick jacket, I've taken to wearing bracelets instead. Have you seen my bracelet picks?

L: It's amazing the kinds of things you find on eBay! If you're a longtime reader of my blog then you know that I am a total eBay fiend. We scored this cute costume for Chloe for only USD 2.99!

R: We took these pictures separately and without knowledge of one anothers' pictures. Oh, what it means to be sisters ;)

L: When the gorgeous girls from Sydney - Janice from chaigyaru and Jeanice from pandablush - came down to Melbourne for Easter weekend. These two, with Val from ponikuta and Shiz from heartofpearl, are total party animals! ♥

R: I discovered a new iPhone app that does THIS. I'm pretty much obsessed. Come over to my place, you'll find me sitting in a corner with my phone, giggling to myself.

L: I have been working long and hard on my YouTube channel and it would mean so much to me if you would subscribe! I am also working on some giveaways so do check the channel out if you have some time to spare! www.youtube.com/emilyquak

R: I love everything about Jennifer Garner's look here, from her glowing skin to her gorgeous earrings!

L: Did you know that in an effort to help you stay on-trend without sacrificing comfort, Kleenex has come up with these amazing Slim Wallet packs? You can buy a six pack, which features a bunch of different, stylish designs to suit your every fashion want or need.

R: The video tutorial for this look is being rendered for upload as I type! Also coming up is the much-requested eyebrow tutorial :)

L: I caved and bought the Giorgio Armani High Precision Retouch. Look out for mini updates and reviews of the concealer on my Instagram and Twitter! Oh, and if you're wondering, the nail colour is Mode Cosmetics Nail Polish in Face Gone Purple. They are only AUD 2.95 per bottle!

R: Have you tried the new ck one lipsticks? They are fabulously pigmented and have such a beautiful range of statement lip colours. The one I have on in this picture is 600 Must Do.

That's it for round 3! I hope you guys enjoyed these little snippets :)

Rue Bee and Winston are finally here! After years of waiting, months of planning, and countless hours talking about it, they're finally here in Melbourne with us  :)

They arrived yesterday morning at 11am. We picked them up at Southern Cross station, excitedly chatting about our plans and their journey here.

We spent yesterday wandering around Melbourne Central and Bourke street, and then had some chocolate at Max Brenner. I don't have any pictures from that, because they're in the other camera.

I do have pictures of our dinner on Lygon, which was delicious! I've never tasted a more fresh pizza crust here in Melbourne ever! We also had to stop at Freddos for the must-have Rocher gelato (they had durian-flavoured gelato, too)

Later on at night, we played a few drinking games, and Chloe became our dealer at poker.

Today we're heading out shopping! Will update you guys tomorrow :)

Hello all, I hope you guys are having the most wonderful weekend. The King Street household has seen more or less just work and study, but that will change next weekend, because exams will be over and assignments will have been handed in by then! Not forgetting, of course, that a certain cousin will be over to visit and wreak some havoc!

Anyway, you may be wondering about the title to my post. Well, let me elaborate.

This is Michelle, trying to get Chloe to hold an RM50 note.

This is me, getting Chloe to hold a "Post-It With Love" from the boyfriend.

Tee-hee.

Then again, you really must give Mich the credit she deserves....

...because this is all Chloe seems to want to do as soon as Jace lays down. Yes, that is me trying to save him from the horror that is Chloe. And yes, that is Jason's wrist trapped between Chloe's jaws. And no, I didn't manage to save him.

Oh well, you can't win 'em all.

In all my years here, the number of times I've been out shopping combined only narrowly surpasses the number of times I have been out shopping since Jason's parents got here!

I've been to Chadstone, Bourke Street, Collins Street, Chapel Street, and Smith Street, all within this week alone.

I thought I'd share a few of my favourite Melbourne shopping spots, just so everyone can enjoy:

On Chapel Street, there is this store called Studio Girl. It sells beautiful, extremely affordable clothes. I love that it's so cheap! There are so many options to choose from, too!

I don't have much to say about Collins street, because the stores there are very pricey. If you're looking for the high-end, expensive stuff, Collins street is your best bet.

Smith street is great for factory outlet stores. The most famous are the Nike and Adidas outlet stores. There are also a lot of vintage and opp shops along Smith street, so you should definitely go there if you are bargain hunting. Another store I really liked was the Tony Bianco outlet store. It was amazing! There were shoes (normally priced at AUD 140) priced down all the way to AUD20!

Bourke street is always good for shopping. The Bourke street mall is where Myer and David Jones are, as well as stores like Supre, Forever New, and so many, many more. Also, look out for entrances into Melbourne's famous arcade malls - little mini-malls with cute (and some very old) stores selling jewellery, vintage clothes, chocolates, games. They start at Bourke street, and lead down all the way to Flinders.

Chadstone is one of the largest shopping centres in the Southern Hemisphere. It's also the farthest away from the city - you have to take a train and then a bus to get there. It is huuuuge, though! They have everything there, even Tiffany & Co.  :)

Bridge Road is a shopping stop I absolutely adore! It is home to the clearance outlets of brands like Cotton On, Sass & Bide, JeansWest, The Body Shop, and so, so many more! There are shoes, clothes, and many cute cafes lining the road. We went a little shopping-happy when we were there, and I even went back for more a few days later!

We've also had such an awesome time hanging out with Jason's family - I almost don't want them to leave. Chloe's been having a ball as well, and I am sure she'll be very sad to see them go.

Jason's graduation is in 2 days. I will update with pictures!

I've gotten a few questions over email about Chloe, and I thought I'd answer them all in a little post dedicated to my crazy dog.

Chloe is a pure-bred Jack Russell Terrier. She was born on February 6th 2009, and we brought her home 2 months later. I wasn't at all interested in getting a Jack Russell when we first started looking for dogs, but I saw her in Pets Paradise, Melbourne Central one day, made the mistake of holding her, and fell in love.

Chloe is a horrifyingly hyper little dog (though she's calmed down a bit already), and she very much needs human contact to get through her day. When we're at home, she never lets up, always wanting to be held, or to be put in someone's lap. If we ignore her for long enough, though, she'll go find a warm little area for herself and curl up. Most of the time, she gets onto our laps. She's a pretty persistent little dog, this one.

Chloe is very intelligent and obedient, but she gets up to a hell of a lot of mischief when left alone, depending on how rowdy she's feeling. Most days I'll leave her at home and nothing happens, but some days Michelle's files go missing from her cupboard, or I find a chewed-up blanket from her own blanket stash lying around.

Don't be fooled, though. We do have to Chloe-proof the house a little before we leave - basically push the chairs in so she doesn't jump on them to get onto the tables, and pick up everything that's lying on the floor.

She is fully toilet-trained - we have a little tray in the corner of the room where she 'goes'. I don't take her out as often as all of us would like, because she always gets really itchy and her ears burn up whenever she goes out (and yes, I deworm and de-flea her).

Chloe is a sweet-tempered dog, couldn't hurt a fly (okay, I lie, she does chase and eat flies every now and again). She wouldn't do a thing to hurt us, though. Trust me, Michelle has tried like crazy to provoke her. She responds and jumps all over the place, but never chomps down on anyone's fingers or legs.

She does all kinds of cute things, too.

Every night at 6.30PM, she starts scratching at her food bowl, and then looking up at one of us. The more we ignore her, the harder she scratches.
She also paws at her water bowl when she wants more water.

She drags her blankets with her everywhere! If we're on the couch and refuse to share our blankets with her, she jumps off, and reappears a couple of minutes later with her gigantic comforter. It's quite comical watching her trying to drag a comforter 5 times her size around and up onto the couch.

When she wants food, she'll sit next to whoever's eating and place her paw on their arm. If we ignore her, she starts pawing at our arms, kind of like a person tapping you on your arm to get your attention.

She is terrified of the vacuum cleaner. Whenever I vacuum the apartment, she hides behind Michelle's chair, or runs into one of our kitchen cupboards to 'ride out the storm'.

She's the sweetest, most loyal dog. Please come meet her!  :)

So I'm minding my own business, reading my Tax Law books, when the boyfriend asks me to look at what Chloe is doing - he does that a lot, and doesn't realise that while he's HON-ing or running around chasing a ball, Chloe does all those things and I don't feel like expressing the amount of excitement he's expecting to see - and I look down, only to notice this brown-ish patch on her...thigh?

Anyway, I ask him to take a look, and he lifts her up, only to find a couple of red spots on his pants.

Uh-oh.

I look at her *I can't say it!* and it's all red!

My dog has gotten her period!! I'm feeling kind of weirded out. It may be because as much as I refer to Chloe as "her" and "good girl", she's such a little rascal that I never really took her for a female dog - until now.

Thing is, I've only ever had male dogs - Leo, Spot, Milo, Russell, Scott, and Tyler. All males. So now this little rascal of a Chloe comes along and throws me off my doggy game.

The websites I looked up recommended putting panties on her (because doggy pampers do the same thing at a much elevated price), which I did, only to realise that she'd have trouble going to pee.
I didn't have to worry about that for very long - the panties were soon off her bum and in her mouth, torn to shreds. Oh, well.

She's still the cutest thing ever, though. Quite in need of a good cuddle every now and again (she demands it!), and so ravenous when it comes to meal time!

I cannot imagine a life without dogs. They are so entertaining, and it is so satisfying when they learn all that you teach them, and are able to do so many things.

Tyler has recently gotten a little sick, and is not doing too well. Please send him your good thoughts and prayers! He would very much appreciate it :)

It's been getting so cold lately, even Chloe is beginning to feel it.

She wants to be on people's laps all the time. She paws at your hand till you give in to her request to sleep on your lap - not so good when you have work to do.

So she got a bit antsy today and climbed up onto the study table so she could then jump conveniently into my lap. Of course, I wasn't having any of that, so she sat on the table, shivering and whining.

I felt so bad.

So I fashioned a little Chloe-warmer.

I'm no innovative genius, it's just an old, really thick sweater I tied around her neck.

Doesn't it look like she's wearing this plush nude poncho, though? My dog is so fashion forward. Okay, maybe I'm taking this a little far.

But hey, she isn't shivering anymore :)

Chloe Runs Free
A Day in the Park.

Last weekend, we all took a trip to Queen Victoria Market, along with Chloe.

We always walk through the Flagstaff Gardens to get to the market, and it's a really nice, scenic little walk.

After the market, we were walking back through Flagstaff Gardens, as usual. There was no one around. Chloe goes to Flagstaff Gardens all the time, but we have never taken her off-leash. Who knows where she would go, or if she would ever come back.

We gave in to temptation, and let go of the leash. Chloe took off like a bullet!

And she just ran and ran, absolutely delighted at her newfound freedom! A couple of bystanders had a good laugh at her absolute ecstasy.

Of course, I had a little help to make sure she wouldn't run away...

A Day In the Park

It's our Chloe's birthday today. The boyfriend reminded me yesterday, because I was writing about Chloe in our scrapbook.

We both wish so much that we could've brought Chloe home with us and introduced her to Malaysia, not to mention the fact that if we did, she wouldn't be apart from us for so long.

Once again, Kee Ching is taking care of her and for that we are eternally grateful, considering the little rascal Chloe can be.

But this is just a little birthday wish to my darling companion, the light of my Melbourne life (aside from my boyfriend of course). KFC drumstick and party hats on us when we get home, Chloe!

We found Chloe in Pets Paradise, Melbourne Central, on the 5th of April 2009. We'd been looking for a dog for weeks before that - checking prices and comparing. We didn't even want a Jack Russell Terrier but I fell in love with her the moment I picked her up.

We took her home on the 6th of April, the exact day she turned 2 months old. She was a brave little thing, not really bothered by the trams and cars of the city. She was already kind of playful when we got her home, but we never would've guessed that this little angel would turn into the mini monster she is now!

The family soon came over to visit. Everyone met Chloe, including Sharon, who was smitten even though for the last month she insisted that we were Scott and Tyler traitors.

She's all grown up now - a whole year old. She's better behaved around us, well-trained, and so loving. I miss her. I'm looking forward to seeing her when I get back!
