According to Feng Shui experts, today is the actual beginning of the Lunar Calendar New Year.

They recommend you dress in red (to attract 'ong') and bank some money into your bank account (to signify the beginning of many more similar transactions over the year).

I'm not superstitious, but I'm also not ruling out the possibility of good things happening from a little practice of tradition.
