Get the Look: Lee Hyori Inspired Purple and Gold Eye

Saturday, January 29, 2011

I came across this photo of Asian celebrity, Korean K-pop superstar Lee Hyori in concert, and had to try this look! Here's a tutorial that I did for this look:

Draw the area that you want your eyeshadow to go, using eyeshadow pencils. The ones I used for this look are NYX Jumbo Eye Pencils in Pure Gold and Purple.

Take a gold eyeshadow and place it in the centre of your lid. I used the dark gold colour from the Sleek Storm palette.

Take a royal purple coloured eyeshadow (mine is from the Sleek Original palette) and apply it onto the outer and inner corners of the eye.

Using a black shadow, accent the very corners of both the outer and inner parts of your lid. Make sure not to go over all of the purple eyeshadow.

Lightly run a blending brush over the corners of the eyeshadows. Drag the outer purples and blacks into the inner purples and blacks above the gold eyeshadow (in your crease area).

Go over the gold eyeshadow again to make it pop, then line your eyes (I used MAC Fluidline in Blacktrack). Dip an eyeshadow pencil into both the black and purple eyshadows used, and smoke out the eyeliner on the bottom lashline.

Apply a light gold eyeshadow colour (I used the one from the Sleek Storm palette) to the inner corners of the eye, and underneath the eyebrow to highlight.

Apply blush and a nude coloured lipstick. I used Bare Minerals All Over Face Color in Bare Radiance, and NYX Round Lipstick in Circe.
