Chinese New Year Series: Out All Day - Day to Night Look
Wednesday, February 16, 2011Hi guys! I'm finally back with another post on my Chinese New Year series - we're now on to the 14th day of Chinese New Year. One day left :(
So I just wanted to post a little look I did for a day-to-night transition look - for when you're out visiting all day and don't have the time to go home and update your look and clothes. This is a very simple look that's really easy to do, and really quick to do as well!
To transition your daytime look into a nighttime, more sultry look, all you'll need are:
Earrings
Hair clip (preferably a crocodile-type clip)
The dark eyeshadow you used in your daytime look
Eyeliner
Eyelash Curler
Mascara
Nude lipstick
Here's the daytime look I did, followed by the nighttime look below it.
I used two new eyeshadows that I recently purchased from The Face Shop - a little review of these shadows to come soon!
Here are the simple steps to do to make the transition:
Apply your dark eyeshadow, and extend the outer corners beyond or onto your crease, depending on how dramatic you want the look to be. Don't worry too much about it being messy.
Blend that shadow out using your fingertips or a blending brush. Make sure to blend the area between the darker and lighter shadows as well, but be careful not to blend them too much into one another, because then the colours will look a little muddy.
Thicken your eyeliner line, and wing it out at the corners if you want, depending on your personal preference.
As for your hair, all you need to do is bunch it up into a loose, medium-low ponytail. Then holding on to the section of hair directly below your rubber band, twist the ponytail inward and fasten with a hairclip.
If you have a little more time, you can also bring along some false lashes to apply at night. False lashes are a surefire way to add instant glam to a nighttime look.
I hope you are all having the most wonderful week!
