Get the Look: Spring 2011 Runway-Inspired Makeup Tutorial

Wednesday, September 07, 2011

Happy hump day everyone!

I have a 2011 Spring Runway Trend makeup tutorial for you guys today. It is a gorgeous, soft lilac smoky eye. It's great for a formal dinner or even for work. I hope you enjoy it!!

Start by prepping your eyes with an eyelid primer. I am using Etude House Proof 10 Eye Primer.

Then, pat a lilac eyeshadow onto your lid, stopping at your crease. I am using a colour from my 88 Mattes Palette.

Using a small fluffy brush, pat a dark purple shade in a 'C' shape on the outer corners of your eyes, taking it slightly further into your crease. I am using a colour from my 88 Mattes Palette.

Using a fluffy blending brush (MAC 217 or equivalent), blend the colour so there are no harsh lines.

Then, line your eye with a pencil liner. Try to use something that smudges well. I am using MAC Eye Kohl in Smolder.

Using a large angled brush (I'm using the Real Techniques Angled Brow Brush), smudge the eyeliner and drag it up and out at the outer corners of your eyes.

Clean up under the eye with a concealer. I am using Bourjois Healthy Mix Concealer in #52.

Apply mascara. I used Benefit BadGal Lash in Black. Please excuse the smudges!

Apply a highlighter onto your cheekbones. I used Jemma Kidd Dewy Glow All Over Radiance Creme in Rose Gold.

Then apply a blush to the apples of your cheeks. I used Face of Australia Blush in Outback Primrose.

And that's the final look. Thanks so much for reading!
