Product Review: INIKA Certified Organic Pure Primer

Thursday, September 08, 2011

Hi guys! I've got a gorgeous Australian brand to share with you all today. INIKA is a luxury natural cosmetics' brand. It produces certified organic, pure mineral makeup. The absolute best part about INIKA is that the all its products are 100% Certified Vegan, Certified Halal, and Certified Cruelty Free.

Today I'm reviewing the INIKA Certified Organic Pure Primer.

What INIKA say:
INIKA Pure Primer is a certified organic blend that offers protection and hydration for the skin prior to makeup application. With delectable ingredients such as macadamia oil, avocado and apricot, Pure Primer feels soothing to the skin, providing an even canvas for foundation application and improves the staying power of your makeup.
This primer comes in super luxe packaging, and dispenses from a pump. Everything about it just screams luxury. I love the gold lettering and the sleek bottle.

I found that this primer smelled a little different from anything else I've used. It smells very medicinal. The smell is actually quite strong, so it might not be for those people who are sensitive to smell. The smell becomes a lot weaker after the first few minutes, but I do still catch small whiffs of it throughout the day.

I love the way this primer glides onto my skin. I think it does a good job of hydrating my skin and I love that it makes my skin feel and look supple and smooth.

My makeup usually lasts quite long as it is, so I can't really comment on whether it helps the lasting power of my foundation.

The overall effect that this primer has is that it makes your skin look smooth, it helps make mattifying foundations look more natural, and it helps smooth out the application of my foundation. I usually like a little something more with my primer - I need primers that help my foundation sit on top and disguise my pores, which this unfortunately doesn't do (not that it claims to be able to do that).

So whilst overall I am loving how luxe and eco-friendly this primer is, I'm not sure I would purchase it because it is pretty expensive. But if you have good pores anyway, and love a supple, dewy finish to your foundation, then you should definitely check this out. If you're a very environmentally conscious, then seriously, look no further. I have a very eco-conscious cousin, and I think products from this brand would suit her perfectly.

This primer comes in a 50ml bottle and retails for AUD 60.
