Hello makeup lovers! I am back with a product review for you all today - this is an eyeliner range that I was sent pretty recently, and that I am loving!

The Rimmel ScandalEyes Waterproof Kohl Kajals area a long-lasting, pigmented, creamy eyeliner.

Packaging
Not too pretty, but I'm not fussed. The pencil is sturdy, and easy to sharpen. No hassle.

Product
These pencils are so creamy, and so easy to use. They are very soft, and slide smoothly onto the skin. They are also extremely pigmented, as shown in the swatches below.
Also, the Black is one of the most pigmented black eyeliners I have seen in a while!


The bright blue eyeliner (014) is one of the most beautiful colours I have ever seen in a drugstore eyeliner! I'm sure you don't need me to tell you that wearing it on your lower waterline adds a fabulous pop of colour to your makeup look.

Performance
The ultimate test of any eyeliner is whether or not it stays put! I have pretty watery eyes, and very oily lids (when I don't use eyeshadow), so almost no eyeliner stays on my eyes unless it's a gel or liquid eyeliner.
Pencil liners smudge badly on me, and unfortunately this was no exception at first. However, once I set this with a powder, it lasts amazingly well. The only problem with that method is that it lessens the intensity of the eyeliner.

So how did this eyeliner still make HG status for me? The Nude colour. I have been searching high and low for an affordable eyeliner with a creamy consistency, and lasting power good enough for the lower waterline, and a natural enough colour so that my makeup doesn't look too mod or unnatural. I have finally found it in this eyeliner! It applies so amazingly easily onto my lower waterline, and lasts the entire day without smudging, fading, or collecting on the outer corner of my eyes the way other eyeliners do.

Aussie readers, rejoice! We now have access to a range of eyeliners that perform similarly to the Milani Liquif'eye eyeliners, a range that is somewhat harder to obtain here in Australia.

I was recently sent the range of 10 Hr Wear Eye Pencils - a collection of three gorgeous, creamy eye pencils!


They come in three slightly shimmery shades - Aqua Attack, Bombastic Bronze, and Grape Cake.

I am extremely excited about this range because they are extremely, insanely creamy - think Avon Supershock Gel Eyeliner - but stay on for the longest time! I am still amazed by the fact that they do not budge, not even a little bit! I have pretty oily eyelids when I stay home and don't use any powder or makeup, and this is how I tested these eyeliners. They stayed just as vibrant and strong as they were when I put them on!


Another reason why these pencils are so amazingly perfect is, despite the fact that these pencils are so creamy and intensely pigmented, they don't run out as quickly as other creamy pencils. When I use a creamy eyeliner pencil, I usually have to sharpen the pencil just after two uses. However, with these pencils I get a good few uses before I have to sharpen them. In fact, I used the bronze eye pencil to lay down an entire eyeshadow base and still, I didn't need to sharpen it.

My one gripe about these products is that they don't come in black! I would snap these up in a NY minute if they did :)

So when I first started wearing makeup, my biggest problem was that my damned eyeliner kept smudging and travelling onto my undereye area. I researched endlessly, trying to find a solution to this problem, and I found out a couple of tricks along the way. Here they are!


1. Use your concealer as a barrier
I'm not a big fan of this trick, because it requires that you pile on the concealer really thick. But on big nights out, I like to do this because it gives my face more definition - the concealer also serves as a highlighter to bring out the undereye area and sink the area underneath the cheekbones and the same time. Pictured above are my two current favourite concealers - the Bourjois Healthy Mix Concealer in #51 and the Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Concealer in Pale Beige. Remember to set the concealer with a powder, or you risk having both the eyeliner and your concealer melt and move. I love using the Laura Mercier Translucent Loose powder or the Sleek Luminous Pressed Powder.



3. Choose eyeliners that don't budge
I have also learned which eyeliners smudge the least, and which ones to avoid. I don't have a 'naughty' list for you, but I do have my star eyeliners to share: the Clinique Brush On Cream Liner in True Black, MAC's Fluidline in Blacktrack (not pictured), Face of Australia's Liquid Eyeliner, and Ellis Faas Creamy Eyes in E103. These are either cream, gel or liquid liners - they are the most long-lasting of the lot and that's why I use them. If you prefer that smudgy effect that kohl or pencil liners give you, you can simply use cream eyeliners and smudge them before they set, or smudge out some matte eyeshadow on top of the finished line - these will all still give you that stunning smoky effect, without the risk of smudging and melting.

Hi guys! How are you all today? I just have a quick review and swatches of another two products from the amazing Sisley Mystic Harmony Fall Collection 2012.


These are the Sisley Phyto Blush Eclat in Duo Peach and the Sisley Phyto Kohl Star Glittering Eyeliner in Dark Amethyst.

Both these products are amazingly beautiful and such a dream to apply!

Packaging
Both products come in velvet slip pouches. The blush comes in a plastic compact, and the eyeliner, this stunning matte/metallic material.

Performance
The blush is quite sheer, but is also very buildable. The colour comes out gorgeous and peachy. It's not quite matte, but it doesn't have that flat feel to it, either. Instead, it kind of gives you a soft glow. It is a beautiful product, and I highly recommend it!



The eyeliner is very pigmented, and is a pure work of genius! There are chunks of glitter in the pencil, but the glitter does not fall down or move when you blend the pencil out. It glides on smoothly, without tugging on the eye. Another great release from Sisley - I have had such brilliant fun playing around with their products and I can safely say that these are some quality releases!

Hi guys! I hope Monday is treating you well.

I have a really simple post to share with you all today - how to apply eyeliner. I think this is a really simple, essential step in a makeup routine, and one that, if done right, can make a huge difference to your look.

I am demonstrating this with a gel eyeliner and an eyeliner brush, but you can use any kind of eyeliner you like.







Now for the wings. It's important to get the angle of the wing right, especially for people with hooded lids or droopy eyes. One trick I discovered is to use my eyeliner brush and follow the angle of my lower lashline, or to angle the liner from the corner of the eye towards the end of the eyebrows, as shown below.





Here are some other useful tips for drawing on eyeliner:

• It helps to have a mirror that swivels, so that it can be placed below you, so that you can look down into it. Looking down into the mirror helps you draw on your eyeliner without having to try and hold your eye shut or squint.
• People with hooded lids or monolids are better off using gel eyeliner, because they last longer and don't smudge when the flesh on the lids overlap, or when the lids are oily.

Ellis Faas is completely new to my blog, so let me start by introducing the brand. Ellis Faas is a renowned makeup artist with many credits to her name, including working behind many well-known brands such as M.A.C. and Biotherm. She went on to create Ellis Faas, a makeup line that draws only on colours that exist in, and on the human body. All her products are fluid in texture, and dispense from bullet-like containers, such as the one pictured below.


Today, I want to introduce you to a product that I am completely head-over-heels in love with - the Creamy Eyes in E103. This is a creamy-textured eyeshadow in a pure black colour. It comes in the standard Ellis Faas click-twist bullet dispenser. The applicator is a little brush, pictured below.


This product is nothing short of amazing. Though meant to be used as a cream eyeshadow, I have started using it as an eyeliner instead, and I am loving the results! This has staying power like no other cream eyeshadow. The reason why I rave about this over any other cream eyeshadow, though, is the intensity it provides. This product comes out a strong, pure black, and smudges like a dream.

I have been using gel eyeliner for many years now because of the intensity and staying power I get from it, but I have always loved the smoky, soft effect that pencil eyeliners give me. However, I am yet to find a pencil eyeliner with the kind of staying power that I am accustomed to with gel eyeliners.

Why I like it, in summary? It stays on like a gel eyeliner but smudges and blends like a pencil liner. It is my DREAM hybrid eyeliner!

I just happened to have purchased the Bobbi Brown Long Lasting Gel Eyeliner in Violet Ink about 2 weeks prior to receiving this gel eyeliner for review, so I thought it would be perfect if I compared both these gel eyeliners to give you an idea and a sort of feel for both these products.

I wanted purple-toned eyeliners because they bring a certain softness to your look as opposed to the harsh black, and purple really brings out the brown in your eyes, which I was desperate to try!


As you can see in the picture above, both eyeliners are equally pigmented, which I loved. The picture reflects the true colour - the liners are almost black with a subtle purple tinge - not quite what I had in mind, but definitely convenient when I wanted to wear purple eyeliner to the office!

Both eyeliners are also extremely long-lasting - I didn't see any difference with wear time or smudging between both these gel eyeliners. I did, however, find that the Bobbi Brown eyeliner stung a little when I applied it to the very inner corners of my eyes, which also happens to me when I apply liquid eyeliner to that same portion of my eyes. But the stinging is only very slight, and doesn't bother me at all (though when I do liquid liner it bothers me a heck of a lot).

One thing I have to mention about the Youngblood eyeliner is that, as the picture shows, it is a little less creamy compared to the Bobbi Brown eyeliner. The Youngblood also dries out a little faster. I find the problem easily overcome by just warming up the gel on the back of my hand first before applying it to my lashline (I use a pointed, fine liner brush to apply this). I guess this is only a problem if you're pressed for time.

Overall, I really like the Youngblood gel eyeliner. It is pigmented and lasts very long on my lids, even when they get oily. These come in 4 other colours - Eclipse (black),  Espresso (dark brown), Midnight Sea (deep cobalt blue), and Galaxy (dark grey with silver shimmer). I am dying to try Midnight Sea!

Hi everyone! I hope you've all had a lovely weekend! Unfortunately it's back to work tomorrow *groan*, but hopefully this makeup tutorial cheers you up a little. I only just realised that I've never done a black smoky eye. Since I've got an eyeshadow palette from  Estée Lauder that I need to review, I thought why not do a makeup tutorial and kill two birds with one stone!


Please excuse the bad condition of my skin - it's been acting up like crazy lately and I am working on trying to get it back to normal!

Okay, so to start off, apply your foundation. You can save this step for last if you think you're going to make a mess under your eye. If you're using this  Estée Lauder eyeshadow duo, you should be safe doing foundation first, because I experienced no fall down whatsoever with the eyeshadows.
