Product Review: Not Your Mother's Girl Powder - Volumnizing Hair Powder
Tuesday, March 13, 2012Hi everyone! I am reviewing a product that I am very excited about today, and that is the Not Your Mother's Girl Powder.
Not Your Mother's is an American brand that combines professional performance with affordability. This is a fantastic volumnizing product from the brand, and a favourite of stars like Carolyn Hennesy and Tiffany Hines.
I don't want to say much about this product - I think I will let the pictures do the talking.
Pre-Girl Powder
All you do is open the container (very gently!) and lightly tap the powder in between the roots of your hair. What I do, as shown in the picture below, is pull my hair back so I can get to the roots of the hairs that aren't on the very top of my head.
Some things to note about this powder - it is very, very fine! When I first received this, I thought the bottle was empty. Be careful when you are handling the bottle, because the powder spills out really easily.
And here is a post-Girl Powder picture:
Here are the pictures placed side by side:
My thoughts on this powder:
- It definitely adds volume to your hair
- Be sure to get to the roots of your hair below the upper layer of hair, if that makes any sense
- After the product is applied, you need to fluff your hair up a little to achieve the volume that you want
- Be warned - it does get a little stiff at the roots when you apply this product, but that's the price you have to pay when you want that lift, I guess
I am head over heels in love with this product, and I have been using this almost everyday since I received it. It retails for a delightful AUD 14.95 per bottle, and is available at i-glamour.com.
