Get the Look: Kim Kardashian Vegas Birthday Makeup
Wednesday, June 01, 2011Hello everyone! I'm posting a makeup tutorial today - on how to get Kim Kardashian's makeup at her Vegas birthday last year. Once again, I chose a person whose skin is so much more tan and bronzed than mine. I look so sallow and washed out next to all that bronzey yumminess, but let's not dwell on that.
Here's the step by step how-to:
First, apply a layer of gold cream eyeshadow to your mobile lid. I used JK Jemma Kidd Glitterati Eyeshadow Dust Duo in Papparazzi.
Then, layer a gold coloured eyeshadow on top of the cream shadow. I used a gold colour from my 88 Neutrals palette.
Then, take a dark bronzey eyeshadow and place it in the crease. Again, I'm using a colour from my 88 Neutrals Palette, which is pretty similar to Urban Decay's 'Smog'.
Blend the colour out with a fluffy blending brush. Create a feline shape at the outer corners when you blend.
Line your eyes. For this look, line the inner corners of your eyes, and focus the most inner corner into a downturned point.
Smoke out the liner on the upper lashline with a matte black eyeshadow and a pencil liner, and the liner on the bottom lashline with the bronzey eyeshadow.
Clean up underneath your eye. Use a concealer that is a shade lighter than your natural skin tone, so that it doubles as a highlighter. Apply the concealer to the area underneath the eye and onto the apples of your cheeks in a 'V' shape, and take it all the way to your temples. You can also use this concealer to sharpen the feline shape at the outer corners of your eyes.
Kim's face is always very sculpted, so contour your nose with a matte brown contour powder. If you're new to contouring, check out my contouring tutorial here.
Apply a blush to your cheekbones underneath the concealer, starting below your iris. Apply it all the way up to your temples, still staying underneath the concealer. The bottom edge of your blush should stop before you hit the hollows of your cheeks. I used MAC Mineralize Blush in Gentle.
Then, apply a bronzer to your temples, sweeping inwards towards the center of your forehead. I used Bourjois Delice de Poudre in #51.
Apply a highlight to the apples of your cheeks, on your cheekbones, and onto your brow bones. I used TheBalm Mary Lou-Manizer.
Finally, apply a beige-toned nude lipstick and slick on some peachy coloured gloss. I used LimeCrime Lipstick in Coquette and Milani Coral lipgloss.
I hope this was helpful! :)
